The Lotus
Lotus in copper wood and glass by Philip R Gauthier

Copper, glass, steel and wood

The Lotus Flower is made of hammered and heat treated copper leaves, embedded with steel balls, with a glass structure in the center supporting copper wires that lead to copper rings holding lenses within wooden clasps. Each of the four lenses is just over 3 inches in diameter and are of industrial quality. Mounted in the base of an antique piano leg made from solid mahogany, Lotus measures about 16 inches in diameter and 14 inches high. The top of this piece is still more glass that collects and either distorts the real world, or bends it into a more real reality. Contact for purchase information.
